Bunker Restoration Project

NEW BUNKER SAND AT APPLE MOUNTAIN

February 22, 2018

FREELAND, MI – As the region’s premier championship golf course, Apple Mountain offers a masterful design taking advantage of a diverse landscape, unique undulation and the area’s highest peak. Building on a reputation for perfect playing conditions, an extensive bunker restoration project is underway with completion expected to take place this spring.

The course's 33 greenside bunkers are being filled with over 600 tons of new sand to improve playing conditions, consistency and course aesthetics. As part of the project, crews have repaired or replaced underground drainage tiles in each bunker to improve their playability following inclement weather.

In addition to the greenside bunkers, the waste bunkers on holes 7, 12 and 13 are being refreshed and the large bunker that formerly separated holes 13 and 14 has been filled in and seeded.

Golf season passes are available now for the lowest price of the season, starting at just $1,600. Limited time prices are available through February 28, 2018. For more information visit applemountain.com or call 989.781.6789.
